Enzyme storage / dispensing

One area that has gotten some attention while we've been thinking of ideas is this problem of having to carry around enzymes to take during the day. I thought a new discussion might help act as a…Continue

This is the space where we'll post our ideas during this weekend. There are some basic rules- nothing too terrifying I hope! These are to ensure that we don't loose any good ideas early on, since some…Continue

Holly mentioned that bags might be useful- for carrying enzymes & meds. I remember from Holly's video that she mentioned that it's (more) difficult for guys as not everyone carries a…Continue

Happy Easter

Hello all,I hope this Easter time has meant that you've been able to take some time off to relax and have some fun. It's still holiday time here in the UK, but there has been some great progress in the development of the Enzyme dispenser, and it's gotten to the point now where we're ready to send out some for people to test. I'll individually email people to see if they would like to have an Enzyme dispenser sent to them, and if so I'll put something in the post & send it out first…See More

Enzyme Dispenser, week 1 - Initial Ideas

Posted on January 14, 2013 at 20:59 0 Comments

So this week is the first week for the Enzyme dispenser workshop.

Last Friday, I met with Ben- he's the guy who will be making the electronics for the Enzyme dispenser- and discussed what is needed, and how this might affect our design. After talking to Ben, there really isn't too much of a problem with the electronics. The system is very simple... just a push button (like on mobile phones from a few years ago), a tiny clock, and a microchip to record everything.

Ben suggested…

Happy New Year

Hello all,

I hope that you all had a great time over Christmas, and that 2013 turns out to be an excellent year for everyone.

It's been great to welcome so many people to the site, and also exciting to begin to get some interest in the projects building. Just before Christmas, I blogged about a meeting with the CF doctor here in Sheffield, and how the project to develop a prototype enzyme dispenser has been approved. I thought I would try and explain things a bit further, so…

The industrial partner has committed to the work we'll be doing here! It's all go. I'll blog again with any more developments and updates. Until then, on this Christmas eve- eve, I hope you are all well,

Matt

Hi Matt!

Yes the link has worked! Just getting to grips with the layout of the design and working my way around the site! I like it though! A few suggestions already, is it possible to have an 'about me section' on your profile in which you can write a brief description about yourself eg. Job, Medical condition, what yours interested in ect. Also maybe you could have your own background image on your page like you can on twitter and tumblr? just makes it more personal and another way of expressing yourself. If I create a blog post does it get published to everyone on the site? Lots of idea's! It's really good though Matt!

Hi Holly,

I'll get onto this. This is the most basic version of this software- so I'll see if I can add (or turn on) those features. If they're not available, I'll get onto the design team & see if we can add them.

Thank you, I am very excited to contribute and learn =) should be some good times! Forgive me if it takes a bit for me to understand the interface of this design community =) I'm a quick learner, but this layout is all new to me. I'll send you a message with my address!
